FRANZ DICKSON is clearly one of Nigeria's most admired vocalists. A singer, songwriter, voice over artiste and vocal coach, he's been active in the Lagos circuit of the Nigerian music industry since the 90s. With a wealth of experience as a background vocalist for notable Nigerian artistes like Mike Okri, Alex O, Alex Zitto to mention just a few, he soon became a favourite for most jingle producers in Lagos Nigeria like Tunde Ajijedidun of Digitrack Studios, Kingsley Ogoro of Klink Studios, Bayo Adepetu of Midicorp Studios e.t.c. His voice is on major TV and radio stations' identity songs like the NTA 2 CHANNEL 5 signature tune and the METRO 97.6 FM Station's identity song amongst others. In the 90s he was a member of the R&B group "DOWN 2 EARTH" fondly regarded by some then as Nigeria's version of BOYS 2 MEN. Besides singing, he's done voice overs for numerous major commercials for top brands from COCA COLA to PEPSI amongst others. He featured in the first highly rated KAZIMBA CHOIR put together by Wale Macauley. In 2004, his first solo single 'DON'T SAY IT'S OVER' was a radio hit and enjoyed an incredible 15 week run on the prestigious 'MTN TOP 10 countdown'
presented then by famous ON AIR PERSONALITY, OLISA ADIBUA. His 2010 single, "I NO GO WANT", an adaptation of the 23rd Psalm continues to enjoy massive radio air play across the breath of Lagos city. ON AIR PERSONALITY at RADIO CONTINENTAL, JONES USEN paid him and the song some of the finest compliments a singer could get. A graduate of Mass Communication, Franz has also written, performed and produced numerous soundtrack songs and music for a host of Nigerian HOME VIDEOS and TV programmes. NEMESIS 1&2, ENEMIES AT HOME, BLACK POWDER, SHAMELESS ROMANCE and in 2011, 'A CLAP OF THUNDER'
